Description
Consists of a plastic hub with capped male luer lock and a tubing port at a right angle to the male luer lock. The 'T' adaptor may also possess an injection site or needle-free connector opposite the male luer lock. An extension tube may be attached to the 'T' connector via the tubing port.

Method of use
Used to connect IV access devices together. Most commonly 'T' adaptors connect IV catheters to other extension tubing or giving sets. 'T' adapters connect two IV administration devices together at right angles to each other which provides easier IV manipulation. In addition, the injection port or needle-free connector provides another means for administration of intermediate injections
