Description
Also known as a blood transfusion filter. Microaggregate filter encased in plastic opaque housing. Housing possessing a spike with protective cap and a connector with cap at either end (the lower of the two being a luer connector). The size of the filter should be specified on the packaging.

Method of use
The distal cap is removed from the connector and is secured to an administration set. The proximal cap is removed from the spike and the spike is connected to the port of a blood bag. The system is filled and primed for infusion. The filter retains microaggregates contained within the blood which could block the arterioles during transfusion.
