Description
Also known as 'neocath'. Kit consists of a winged needle, an extension set with a compression hub and a graduated catheter containing a small metal tube at one end.

Method of use
Suitable for insertion into peripheral veins. Venipuncture is performed using the winged needle and the catheter is inserted into the vein through the centre of the needle. Once the catheter is in position, the needle is withdrawn whilst gentle pressure is applied to the catheter to keep it in place within the vein. The other end of the catheter with the metal tube is inserted into the compression hub of the extension set. The compression hub is twisted to tighten it. Following this the catheter and extension set is secured in place.
