Description
Electrode pads consisting of a conductor layer with a non-conducting backing on one side and a solid gel adhesive layer on the other. These electrodes also possess a cable and connector. Only the adhesive side of the electrode should be placed in contact with the patient's skin. Paediatric and adult sizes are available and come in pairs.
Instructions for use should be included.

Method of use
Pads are placed directly onto the patient in the correct position and the cables connected to the defibrillation machine.
Some defibrillation electrodes are also referred to as 'multi-functional electrodes' because they can also be used with other types of machines to perform other functions such as cardiac monitoring and pacing.
